Elisabeth Lothe is a Senior Advisor in the Section for Peace and Reconciliation, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2017 – 2020 she was posted to Athens, as Deputy Head of Mission to Greece and Cyprus. She has previously worked with the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York, Timor Leste and South Sudan. Her field of work was Justice and Security Sector Reform. From 2013 to 2017 she was based in Singapore, where she worked as a Mediation Advisor with the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue’s regional office in Singapore. She worked directly on both national and local peace processes in Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia and the Philippines, and focused on dialogues, cease fires, inclusion of civil society, and process design. Ms. Lothe entered the Norwegian Foreign Service in 2011, and worked for two years in Oslo. Ms. Lothe holds an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Oslo and a BA in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal and Sciences Po in Paris.
