Ingebjørg Finnbakk is an adviser at the Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) and the Great Lakes Programme at the European Institute of Peace (EIP). She has several years of experience in engaging with armed actors in the Great Lakes Region with the European Institute of Peace and the UN Peacekeeping mission (MONUSCO). From 2016-2019, she was deployed to Ituri Province, eastern DRC, and played a key role in initiating and building an inclusive peace process between the most significant armed group (FRPI) in the area and the government, resulting in an official peace agreement signed on February 28, 2020. She has also worked with the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and the United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA).
