Dr. Ingrid Vik has 20 years’ experience in international affairs and security politics in a number of contexts and through a variety of platforms; the Norwegian ministry of foreign affairs, multilateral channels, research and consultancy and SCOs. Geographically, she has focused on Eastern Europe/ Southeast Europe, Western Africa/ Sahel, and the Middle East. As a dialogue worker involving both 1. and 2. track efforts, she has been engaged in political dialogues on sensitive matters in complex contexts on themes involving power-sharing, security matters, minority/majority relations and democratic developments. Academically, she has specialized in the nexus of religion and politics/conflicts, with a specific focus on societal trust, security, and democratic developments. Currently, she is engaged as a special advisor in UTSYN focusing on security and democracy in the context of non-military/hybrid warfare and the new security landscape.
