Mireia Cano is a gender advisor and evaluation expert and heads the consultancy company Cano Gender Solutions. She has over 15 years of experience in designing, implementing and evaluating projects to promote gender equality in fragile countries and conflict settings. Mireia worked as International Gender Advisor to the Colombian Peace Process for the Norwegian MFA (2014-2016). She has led multiple evaluations including: Gender Audit of the Peace and Security Framework in DRC with International Alert (2015), Evaluation of the program Building Peace through Women’s Economic Empowerment in DRC with international Alert (2018), Evaluation of FBA´s Inclusive Peacebuilding Programme in DRC (2019), Evaluation of the FAO project Water for Peace in Yemen (2019), Evaluation of FBA´s support to the Colombian Reintegration Agency for former FARC Combatants (2020), Assessment of Gender and Conflict-Sensitive Business Practices of Nespresso´s Programme Reviving Origins in DRC with PeaceNexus (2021), Advisor to the Berghoff Foundation on the project Supporting Women in Resistance and Liberation Movements in Peace Negotiations (2021), Advisor to NOREF on Gender and Inclusivity (2022), Evaluation of FBA´s Support to the NAP 1325 in Mali (2022).
