Born Swedish/Norwegian, Law degree from Uppsala University, Civil servant at the Åland Government (Law drafter, Director General) the Åland Parliament, and the Åland Delegation to the Nordic Council.

Served with the UN (Legal Officer) in former Yugoslavia.

Member of the Finnish Parliament (2007-2015) as representative of the Åland constituency. As MP member of the Constitutional Law Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Employment and Equality Committee, deputy member of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, representing the Åland constituency in the Grand Committee (European Affairs), and Chairperson of the Parliament’s Human Rights Group. As board member of the Women Cross-party cooperation responsible for coordinating women empowerment projects.  

Organized and lectured at seminars and conferences related to conflict resolution, and power sharing.
