Laura Hendry

Representative of the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs

Laura Hendry is a Senior Specialist on Mediation at the Center for Peace Mediation in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Before joining the ministry, she worked at CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation (CMI) in various positions. Most recently, she led CMI’s cooperation with the EUSR on Middle East Peace Process and CMI’s other activities in Palestine. In addition, she was in charge of CMI’s operational support to Nordic Women Mediators (NWM), and especially the NWM-FI. She joined CMI in 2012, and among other roles has supported CMI facilitated dialogue processes in Palestine, led CMI’s cooperation with AU and ECOWAS and took part in development of CMI’s policy work as well as cross-organisational learning. Before CMI, she has worked in the Finnish Embassy in Algiers and Finnish Mission to the UN in New York. She holds a master’s degree in Social Sciences from University of Helsinki.
